WiP :: Otherside Tank

Well, our April/May Knit-Along is in full swing, and I’ve got to say, this pattern is so wonderfully simple that the most difficult part so far has definitely been choosing my colors!
The pattern calls for 100% linen, and while Otherside would work up wonderfully in any combination of linen, cotton, and even bamboo, I knew I wanted to stick to the recommended fiber. I’ve never actually worked with linen before, so I wanted to give it a shot. That helped narrow it down…a little.
While I love the understated grey/yellow combo that’s shown in the pattern, I like to go more colorful in the spring and summer, and so I chose a vibrant magenta to be my first contender for the main color. I could see it working nicely with a pale pink, a peachy orange, or even a yellow, so I tried to mimic the stripe ratio with all 3 combinations.
However, another knitter’s combo that she had already posted on Ravelry caught my eye (and I knew hers was from Yarnia, because I spotted the cones!) and even though it went in a totally different direction, I was really drawn to the turquoise/white combination, too. So I swatched that one up for good measure.
I cast on last week at our Knit & Crochet Night and am loving how it’s turning out so far!
