Join our next Knit-Along!

We are gearing up for our next Knit-Along! For this next project, we’ll be knitting the Otherside Tank. I think this will be a wonderfully fun project for springtime, and a great way to try out your first garment if you’re looking to move beyond hats and scarves. Rather than being knitted in two pieces and sewn together, this tank is actually worked in one piece from the top down, with minimal seaming involved!
You still have a bit of time to purchase your yarn and pattern if you’d like to knit along with us, as we won’t be casting on for this project until Monday, April 27th.
From the designer: A boxy and airy sleeveless summer top, Otherside is knitted up quickly at a loose gauge. The stripes add just the right amount of interest to this shirt, making it a perfectly wearable addition to your everyday wardrobe. Otherside is worked flat in one piece, starting at the front hem. Stitches are bound off in the middle of the row for the neckline and casted on again in the next row. Then the back is worked top-down.
As usual, once you register for the next Knit-Along, you’ll receive 15% off of the yarn for this project. I’m going to be working in 100% linen for this one, which will give the fabric a comfortable drape, with close-to-skin softness. However, I think any combination of natural plant fibers (linen, cotton, hemp, bamboo, rayon) would make a delicious yarn for this project.
Check out all the colors we have in stock for each of these fibers at our Custom Yarn Creator, and then I’d recommend having a look at the different color versions that others have worked up — the possibilities are endless and I have a hunch that the trickiest part of this project will be deciding which color combination you want to work with!
If you’re not interested in knitting along to the Otherside Tank, but would still like to continue to receive updates about our knit nights and/or future projects, I’d recommend joining our FB event, as I’ll continue updating this even as our projects change, and you’ll receive notifications when there is any Knit Night or Knit Along-related news.
Even if you aren’t working through this pattern with us, you can still bring whatever project you ARE working on to our Knit & Crochet Nights and enjoy some company with your fellow Yarnia neighbors! Hope to see you on Monday!
